About The Owner
Shan Arter
In 2008, Shan moved from Vancouver to Nanaimo, British Columbia, and found her true calling in a tattoo shop.
Working with a collective of seven talented artists, she felt at home in the supportive, creative environment. Eager to expand her skills, she attended Bio Touch Canada Cosmetic Tattoo School in 2010 and became certified in cosmetic tattooing. Her colleagues enthusiastically shared their knowledge, helping her grow as an artist.
In 2016, Shan relocated to Victoria, determined to continue cosmetic tattooing within a tattooing environment. After trying different shops and missing the collective energy of Nanaimo, she took a bold step in 2017 and opened Tiger Tattoo. Her vision was to create a tattoo collective that emphasized authenticity and mutual support.
Shan remains dedicated to fostering an environment that embraces individual strengths, encourages growth, and celebrates human connections.
Grateful for her journey, she exemplifies the power of pursuing one's passion and creating a community that uplifts and empowers its members.
As a team member of Tiger Tattoo, Shan is dedicated to helping her artists reach their full potential and encourages them to dream big.
